For over the past decade Northside High School has become a premier powerhouse in high school sports. Not just on a local or State level but the Northside High Eagles are now recognized as a National Powerhouse in high school athletics. As an alumni of NHS we all swell with pride as we hear and read of the accomplishments made through our athletes. Because of this success a higher visibility has provided the opportunity for many athletes to be awarded college scholarships. Opportunities that may not have been achievable in the past.
During the time period of Janurary 11 - February 12,2012, FBLA was collecting jeans for children under the age of 18 that was homeless and did not have good clothes. Northside was competing with Warner Robins to see who can collect the most jeans. All the jeans that was collected was sent off to Aeropostale Jeans at the Galleria Mall. Aeropostale was the people that sponsors the Teens for Jeans. Everybody that donated got a 25% off your next purchase. There was over 100 NHS students, parents, and faculty that donated 404 pairs of jeans. Warner Robins only had 302. So there for we beat them on raising jeans. If you are reading this and donated a pair of jeans, then I thank you for helping.
It was July of 1973, a hot summer in Georgia like most are and my family had decided to move from the Russell Parkway side of Warner Robins to The North Davis side. This was one of the most important decisions to be made in my life and at the time I did not even realize it. It meant that my brothers and I would not go to Warner Robins High School, like my father and step-father and uncles and aunts had done. It meant treading into new territory and new friends and such. But looking back, it was the start of a long journey that would take me through Thomas Elementary, Tabor Jr. High and Northside High School - Home of The Northside Eagles!
